Huawei, which has been silent in terms of smartphone launches for the last couple of months, is gearing up to launch the Android Jelly Bean based Ascend Mate - a smartphone (phablet) with a whopping 6.1 inch HD display.

Sources familiar with the development said to The Mobile Indian, ""Huawei Ascend Mate will be launched in first week of June in India for a price tag of around Rs 29,000." Ascend Mate has 2 GB of internal memory and 8 GB of external memory, which can be further expanded to 32 GB via a microSD card.
Huawei Mate features a quad core processor running at 1.5 GHz. Along with that the phablet has Huawei's Emotion user interface, which gives the device's home screen a new look. On the camera front Huawei Ascend Mate has an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
Another major feature of Ascend Mate is its massive 4050 mAh battery, which the company claims will provide up to two days of backup on a single recharge. This phablet can also double up as a power bank for charging other phones using a cable. Huawei Ascend Mate will have a micro SIM slot and the keyboard along with dial pad will support right or left orientation for single-handed operation.
Another feature that has been added to the device will allow someone using Mate to access the device even while wearing gloves.
