Governing Council to discuss DC players’ fate

A senior BCCI official said that the fate of players would be discussed at length post the scrapping of Deccan Chargers.

With the Indian Premier League’s governing council set to meet at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday, Deccan Chargers players will be at the centre of discussion.

While Deccan Chargers have lost their status as an IPL team after a month long legal battle with the BCCI, the players are the ones who have been worst affected by the development.
Speaking to MAIL TODAY, a senior BCCI official said that the fate of Deccan players would be discussed at length post the scrapping of Deccan Chargers.

“After Deccan’s contract as an IPL team has been terminated, it is the players who have been worst affected as they no longer have a team. Their financial status will also have to be looked into,” he said.

Also, other IPL related issues will be discussed in the meeting.
